Starter Club

Terms of Use.

Last updated 24 August 2026

These Terms of Use (which also serve as our End User License Agreement) are an agreement between you and Starter Club ("we", "us", "our") covering your use of the Starter Club app and website. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What Starter Club is

Starter Club is a community app for sourdough bakers. Members share posts, photos of their bakes, recipes, comments and messages within private communities and, if they choose, in the public Discover feed. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use the app for these purposes, in line with these terms.

Your account

You need an account to use Starter Club, and you must be at least 13 years old. Keep your sign-in details safe — you're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has accessed it, let us know right away.

You are responsible for what you post

Everything you share in Starter Club — posts, photos, recipes, comments, messages and profile details — is your responsibility. You must have the right to share it, and it must follow the rules below. You keep ownership of your content; you simply give us the permission we need to store it and show it to the members you've shared it with, so the app can work.

Acceptable use

Starter Club is a friendly place to talk about bread. To keep it that way, you agree not to post or send content that:

You also agree not to misuse the app itself — for example, by trying to break its security, scrape member data, or interfere with the service.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. There is no warning system for serious violations: objectionable content will be removed, and abusive users will be removed from Starter Club. We review reports of objectionable content and act on them within 24 hours — removing the content and, where appropriate, ejecting the user who provided it.

Reporting and blocking

You have tools to protect your own experience:

Removal and termination

We may remove any content that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or terminate the account of any user who violates them — immediately and without prior notice in serious cases. You can stop using Starter Club and delete your account at any time by following the steps on our account deletion page or emailing us.

Our content and the app

The app, its design, and its branding belong to us. Recipes and other content shared by members belong to the members who shared them — please treat them with the same respect you'd want for your own.

Disclaimers

Starter Club is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Member-shared content, including recipes, is not professional advice — use your own judgement (and your own oven). To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll let you know in the app. Continuing to use Starter Club after a change means you accept the updated terms.
